Ambasciata del Sud

Overview

This villa in Siracusa enjoys a privileged setting in the evocative Neapolis archaeological area, dating back to the 5th century BC, when the city was one of the capitals of Magna Graecia.

Just a few minutes from the property are the Greek Theatre and the Ear of Dionysius—a limestone cave carved into the Temenites hill—among the most fascinating and renowned historical sites in Sicily.

Surrounded by an expansive 4,000-square-metre garden, the villa overlooks the Greek Theatre and the Ear of Dionysius, offering beautiful sea views and a peaceful residential atmosphere. The outdoor spaces recall the grandeur of panoramic international villas, enriched with authentic Sicilian character. At the rear of the house, a classically inspired Italian garden complements a large swimming pool framed by laurel hedges, jacaranda, pomegranate, and lemon trees.

The property has been carefully designed to blend the charm of the original historic villa with refined contemporary elements, including custom-made furnishings and curated modern artworks.

Interiors

Ambasciata del Sud combines imposing elegance with an exceptionally welcoming atmosphere. The property features two driveway entrances to the park and extends across three floors, connected by both an elevator and an internal staircase.

The main staircase opens onto a spacious living area with a bright, sweeping lounge designed for comfort and relaxation. This level includes a conversation area, a second seating space with sofas and a fireplace, and a dining room. A charming retractable bar in original 1950s style, a games area with a pool table, and a comfortable study complete the setting. Adjacent to the dining area are a breakfast room and a fully equipped kitchen.

On the same floor, two suites and additional bedrooms offer private bathrooms, terraces, and direct garden access. Each sleeping area is thoughtfully separated from the common spaces to ensure maximum privacy for guests.

The top floor attic, reachable via two staircases or the elevator, features three terraces: one with panoramic views—ideal for sunset aperitivi—another equipped with a BBQ and outdoor kitchen for relaxed evenings, and a third, more intimate and secluded terrace.

On the ground floor, two large bedrooms with private bathrooms and living areas open onto the Italian garden. This level also includes a gym, sauna, hydromassage tub, and a relaxation area with a chaise longue and large television. In the adjacent garden, guests will find a bar, a well-stocked cellar, and direct access to the swimming pool.

Exteriors

The spacious lawn and the tall trees surrounding the villa offer natural shade and privacy during the warm Sicilian summers. At the heart of the garden lies a large 15 × 6 metre swimming pool, framed by lush vegetation and featuring a comfortable shaded area—ideal for relaxing and unwinding on hot summer days.
